Indian Fall Festival is a success for Santorum team




We Would Like to Thank Volunteers who helped in Lancaster County at the Indian Land Fall Festival.

South Carolina's team Santorum would like thank every volunteer who helped this past Saturday manning the table, walking the crowd and making contact with hundreds of voters last Saturday, we were the only campaign present in Lancaster County. Some of the other Presidential campaigns have said the 5th Congressional District is irrelevant to the nomination and they can win South Carolina without these counties putting all their stock in Greenville, Charleston and Spartanburg. Senator Santorum knows that every vote counts and believes his path to the nomination is showing a presence in every county.

This festival gave us the chance to make personal contact with voters so they can talk about and understand the issues that make Rick Santorum the best choice in the GOP primary.



The key to this race will be drawing a distinct comparison between the candidates and their platforms. This is so important to our success, when voters examine the candidates and their position on key issues, they will see that Rick Santorum is the clearly the conservative choice. But today, we just wanted to thank you the volunteers who gave so much time of your day, to help a cause that you believe in!

Senator Rick Santorum - Focused on the "Why" of America

“I am a Declaration of Independence Guy”
                 “We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
                These are the words that Senator Rick Santorum quotes on his travels across the United States.  When asked if he is a Constitutional Conservative, he responds that he is a “Declaration of Independence guy.”  Why?  Because Rick believes that while the Constitution is the outline for the “how” of America, the Declaration of Independence speaks to the “why” of America.  Many countries have had revolutions, Rick explains, but none have resulted in the miracle that is America.  Why did it work for us?  Because in our Declaration of Independence, we state that our rights in this country come from God, not from government.  And if government has not given you your rights, then government cannot take them away. 
                Slowly this country is changing because the government is taking over more and more of our lives.   Just think back to the debt ceiling crisis.  Who did President Obama point to when we had the debt ceiling crisis?  Who did he scare?  He called upon seniors, active duty military and veterans and those on disability to call their congressman because if congress didn’t pass a bill, “their checks might not go out.”  The phones started ringing.  That’s an amazing amount of power the government already has over millions of Americans, the power of the purse.
Think how much more power government would have if it actually controlled your health? Maybe that’s why it was so important for Democrats to push through Obama’s health care reform bill despite the outcries from the American People?   Senator Santorum tells the story of how he was told by one Democrat, regarding why they were pushing through the health care law, “We believe, American’s love their entitlements and the administration believes that once they have this, they will never give it up.”  How much clearer could they be?  Democrats know that the more we are dependent on our entitlements, the less freedom we have.
But not if we stop this insanity now!  Think about what, in the Declaration of Independence, comes after, “We hold these truths to be self-evident…..”  The paragraph continues, “That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”  They can only take power from us if we let them.  Although our founding fathers did not always agree on items in the Constitution, they all agreed with the sentiments expressed in the Declaration of Independence.   As American’s we need to stand up for these rights!  As Americans, we need to remember, that we are given our rights by God.  Therefore, the government cannot take away what they did not give. 
As South Carolinians, we need to stand behind Rick Santorum and defend the “why” of America. We need to cast our vote for the “Declaration of Independence Guy,” because he continues to believe in American Exceptionalism and has the courage to fight to secure our liberty and defend our rights with honor and courage.  He truly has the “COURAGE TO FIGHT FOR AMERICA.”

Have you heard the real candidate yet?

Our Republican debates really let us see the candidates and how they inter act with the questions ask by the people or the media. Even when they are getting whooped up on we find out if they can they take the heat or do they fizzle out to where they just blend in? That is when we have to go and see which one of the candidates can offer the type of Regan conservativeness we want, and the type we need in 2012, this is the direst election of our lifetime. As a Perry supporter up to now I was very surprised to write this but, the knowledge of the truth will set you free.

Rick Santorum was in Lancaster SC on Tuesday and he was great, he just connected with everyone that was there, he started talking about America being a Godly Nation and how our laws and rights come from our Creator, God. How that makes us exceptional and no other Nation has that document stating that God did this for his people, we don’t have a Kingship that would delegate out the rights to the people, but our God gave us our right in our Constitution and Declaration of Independence He gave us life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness among others. He spoke on how we have gotten away from our Godly roots.

Santorum spoke about getting us back to where families matter again and as he spoke of all the things social conservatives cared about from his polices on life at conception, pro choice and going back to don’t ask don’t tell in the military. Also marriage is between one man and one woman like God intended it to be from the beginning.

He went on into the money talk that all of the fiscal conservatives love to hear and he had solutions for all of our money issues and has had them for a while none of these were quick fixes. From the debt to the social security and how he would fix it and talked about it years ago when he saw this was coming next was how we would go about creating our own energy here in America, real God given organic fossil fuels we could find here in America our clean coal, oil, natural gas and shell oil.

He talked about our military and how we should always keep them strong they are our protectors and we should always keep them armed and ready for anything that could happen to our Country. He spoke of overhauling all of the alphabet letters of govt. (TSA, FDA, EPA, FHA, NLRB ect..) and really putting a ring around the neck of the UN letting them know where our alliance lies and how our liberties are better than any other nations and quit talking down America’s and how bad we are suppose to be.

As for our illegal alien situation he thought we should close the borders first before anything else should be done then we follow the federal laws in every state, as we proceed to write the next chapter for our illegal alien problem. Ricks Grandfather come her the correct way for the American dream, he learned English, he taught his children why it was important to get here and be part of America, the home of the free and the brave.

Rick Santorum needs to let everyone see this side of him, I even told him so, he looked liked a leader of a Nation, our leader, this man would put the United States first, certainly not the press, not himself and not a secular party. You could see a President speaking of how great America is, and could be again if we put in place these Principals our Founding Fathers did so long ago, by shrinking government to the point it works for the people not to where the people work for the govt. AMEN

Santorum makes 5th stop to Horry COunty




Senator Rick Santorum ended his Saturday campaign trip in Horry County at a prayer service. This was the 5th trip to Horry County for Senator Santorum.

Santorum said, "Most candidates haven't been to South Carolina five times and I've been to Horry County five times, and I just came from Spartanburg so you don't make it easy some times because this is a little corner of the state, but it's not a little corner of the state anymore."

This was a good day on the campaign trail for Senator Santorum on Constitution Day where he opened up in Lancaster County speaking about the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, then he followed that up in the Upstate with a speech on the economy and what it would take to truly change our country and closing it up in Horry County at a prayer service.

For those who do not believe Santorum can win need to look at the heart of the candidate and not the money. Senator Santorum can beat President Obama and is the most qualified Conservative in this race. The key to his success is South Carolina, if he wins here game is on.

Santorum travels to Boiling Springs, SC gives Constitution Day Speech



Senator Santorum made his way to the Upstate - South Carolina yesterday following his early morning stop in Lancaster County. Prior to taking the stage Senator Santorum was endorsed by Spartanburg Councilwoman Jane Hall from the 4th District. Ms. Hall stated the "Rick Santorum will bring some integrity and honesty back to the presidential race a characteristic that we need back in the debate. Senator Santorum also does not carry any baggage in his personal or political life.

As Senator Santorum took the stage, "he stated that our country faces the most important election ever in 2012". We have a choice to elect a true conservative or we can continue with the same broken path we are on. He said "this is an election about the heart and soul of our country".

During his speech he talked about Ronald Reagan during his address on foreign policy, he spoke about Afghanistan and how we need to make this a simple operation, get done and be successful. He stated that Obama care was a huge threat to the American way of life and our way of life if implemented will ultimately take the greatness away from our country.


Senator Santorum then went on to discuss the Constitution and state how it was a document that was designed to protect our rights, this is how we build a country from bottom up. Letting people be free and stopping government to build and control everything. But as we all know this is not what is happening and if we do not change things in 2012 we may never change have the chance.

Senator Santorum in no stranger to the upstate or to the state of South Carolina he has visited the state far more then most of the other candidates combined. He is here to spread his conservative message and to meet with all those who will listen, I encourage you to get out and hear the vision of this man and join his team.

Santorum returns to Lancaster County SC for Constitution Day

Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum made his second stop in Lancaster County this week by kicking off the 5th Congressional District GOP Pep rally on Saturday morning.

Senator Santorum who was just recently endorsed by SC House member Deborah Long and Lancaster County Chairwoman Sandy McGarry has decided his path to Victory will start in the 5th District. Although he is one among several GOP candidates vying for the Republican party nomination, Senator Santorum is surely the most conservative in the race.

Senator Santorum spoke to a crowd of people from all over the 5th Congressional District which includes (Lancaster, Kershaw, York, Cherokee, Chester, and other Counties). He was the only presidential candidate that has attended this event. (Other noted elected officials in attendance Congressman Mick Mulvaney, South Carolina State Senators Greg Gregory and Tom Davis, State Treasure Curtis Loftis, SC House members Deborah Long, Ralph Norman, and Greg Delleney).

Senator Santorum knows that every county will come into play in South Carolina. He believes he will not only do well here but he believes he can win. During this recent visit, Senator Santorum spoke about the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, this was a great idea considering Saturday was Constitution Day (see the video below).

Senator Santorum is one of the few candidates that does not use talking points when he goes to events, and he takes the time to answer questions and meet with voters. This is a big difference between him and the rest of the field and it does matter.

Lancaster County, SC was once the textile manufacturing hub of South Carolina; however, today unemployment in the county has skyrocketed to 15.3% and now one-fifth of the county's residents are living below the poverty line. Senator Santorum has focused his jobs plan on bringing back manufacturing jobs like those lost in Lancaster County. Senator Santorum's plan, which was endorsed by the PA Manufacturers Association, would eliminate the corporate tax for all U.S. manufacturers, eliminate burdensome regulations, and expand domestic energy exploration.

Senator Santorum spent Tuesday in Lancaster County, and will return to the county again this weekend.

Santorum is Right, Perry is wrong.....



Verona, PA - POLITICO reported this afternoon that Governor Rick Perry (R-TX) admitted he was wrong in requiring an "opt-out" instead of an "opt-in" as a part of his horrendous mandate for pre-teen girls to be vaccinated for a sexually transmitted disease, HPV. Governor Perry said: "We should have had an opt-in instead of an opt-out." ("Perry knocks Bachmann's HPV story," POLITICO, Jonathan Martin, 9/14/2011)

Hogan Gidley, National Communications Director, said, "I'm glad Governor Perry is finally listening to Rick Santorum - and now understands a conservative position: that the government take-over of a 12-year old girl's body is a bad idea. Hopefully Senator Santorum can now get Governor Perry to flip his position on building a border fence, giving special tuition rates for children of illegals, and supporting gay marriage at the state level."

Fairfield County gets Rick Santorum



Congratulations are in order to Fairfield County GOP who won the challenge between Chester County to host a dinner with Presidential Candidate Rick Santorum. Back in July both County parties agreed to a challenge that the County GOP with the most members / residents of the county that signs up to donate $10 a month to the South Carolina Republican Party by September 5Th, will win a dinner with Rick Santorum in their hometown.

Santorum to debate tonight in Tampa!



Rick Santorum will take part in the CNN/Tea Party Express Debate tonight that will take place in Tampa, Florida. Tea Party groups from 31 states and Washington, D.C. will ask questions directed at the candidates.

The two-hour debate, co-sponsored by the Tea Party Express and CNN, promises to include some topics that rarely come up in national political forums, such as the candidates' views of the Constitution and the Federal Reserve. We believe that Senator Rick Santorum will be prepared and ready for this timely debate.

We do believe that the topic entitlement reform will play a huge discussion in this evening's debate, especially considering the eruption over Rick Perry's assertion that Social Security is a "Ponzi scheme and Mitt Romney stating that it needs to be fixed and is a trusted program. But as we know Rick Santorum has a proven record on fighting entitlements and he should play heavily in this discussion, if it does not become the Perry - Romney show Act 2.

This debate should be a little more fair then one last week when it became a horse an pony show with the entrance of Rick Perry. We believe that this debate will have a little more substance then the debate at the Reagan Library, because the people in this audience are tired of typical politicians and sound bites. If you watch Senator Santorum travel through-out the country you will see he does not need notes or talking points, he speaks directly from the heart and what he believes in.

Today is the 10th anniversary of the most despicable and cowardly acts of violence ever carried out against our nation. In our darkest hour, the heroism of the American spirit served as a beacon of strength, light, hope and healing for the entire world. As a Nation, we rejected what divided us and instead we clung to what makes us one nation under God. Today, let’s reflect on that unifying American spirit – remembering and praying for those innocent people who lost their lives 10 years ago.

Senator Rick Santorum will make his first trip to Lancaster County on Tuesday. He will be making an announcement about his first 100 days in office, his plan for the economy, and Job creation!

Why Lancaster, S.C..?

Well Lancaster County which is nearly 20 miles from Highway 77, is the thoroughfare that connects Columbia, S.C., and Charlotte, N.C. Unemployment rate was anywhere between 12.2% and 15% depending on which numbers you look at, a stark contrast to the national rate.

Lancaster County has also had other weaknesses, they were poverty and education. About 20% of residents live at or below the poverty line, compared to a national rate of 13%. Only 18.6% of the workforce has an associate's degree or higher, while the list average was 25%.

Rick Santorum understands the need for jobs, a good education and has been a force in Washington when he served as a Senator when it comes to welfare reform. Our Country and State faces challenging times and Rick Santorum has a plan to change it, but as a candidate he believes he must reach out to every county and address the voters and listen to their concerns.

Santorum came across as knowledgeable and credible — two adjectives that any candidate would like to have describe a debate performance."


Why Rick Santorum?

With many political pundits clearly stating this is a two horse race between Romney and Perry, We in South Carolina are here to say: Wait just a minute, we have a true conservative in this race that represents South Carolina values, and his name is Rick Santorum. With a proven record of success, he is the real voice of conservatism.

If we had to compare Senator Santorum to anyone in our state, based on policies, principles and a record that is rock solid, you do not have to look very far; the answer is simple… South Carolina's rock star Jim DeMint. Like Senator DeMint, Rick knows what we face and he has the courage to fight for America. The question is: Do the American people have the patience to listen and hear all of the candidates before they decide on a candidate? South Carolina can change the dynamics and have a true voice in this race.

Of course we already know President Obama has crushed the will of the American people. Our Country is at the brink of economic collapse, we cannot afford another 4 years of Obama-nomics.

The United States under the Obama administration faces a crushing national debt; government run healthcare and a failed stimulus that was suppose to get us out of a recession. Many American families are losing their homes, jobs and all of their retirement savings. Not to mention spending our grandchildren’s money.

Fuel, food and education prices have skyrocketed. Family values, traditional marriage and the unborn have been targets of the liberal left and our country will see a major shift in the Supreme Court if we do not get back to the basics. To do this we must elect a conservative candidate with principled leadership with a true faith in God. Sadly, many in this nation have stepped back from our principles and use God only when convenient for their next conquest. Our country is under siege and we need real conservative leadership to save us from the Obama Blues. You will find that Rick Santorum is firm in his beliefs.

Rick Santorum’s approach is simple and has been the American way since our founding fathers. It is smaller government, lower taxes and a strong economy. We have got to crush government intrusion in our lives. We must "Fortify Our Freedom” and live free without fear of retribution.

Rick Santorum knows this and believes in America and has the courage to fight for us, please take the time to learn where Rick stands, then get out and tell friends about his campaign. Let’s change the way we approach politics, give it back to the people; let them decide who the best candidate is. Do not allow the media to decide who our next leader will be, look at the last President, the media decided that win. We are all paying for it and the bill doesn’t stop here, it is carried forth to our future generation.


Below are just a few highlights from last night’s debate. I urge you to go listen to Senator Santorum. If he is in your area, make every effort to attend; find out where he stands on issues, most importantly, ask questions and get involved. This is a most crucial time in all of our lives, no matter our ages.

Lower income and welfare: "There is no one in the United States Senate who did more to work on poverty than Rick Santorum. Rick Santorum pushed and passed the welfare reform bill in the 1990s. "We didn’t pass it to cut money, we didn’t pass it to punish anybody, we changed the welfare system because it was punishing people…it was creating a culture of dependency and we went out and talked to the American public and said trust us to end this federal entitlement, put a work requirement in place, put a time limit on welfare…and we will transform it from a dependency system to a transitional system."

Santorum says entitlement programs are a culture of dependency. When he was in the Senate he led the charge to change entitlement programs and authored a welfare reform bill. Leadership you can trust!

Immigration: Santorum discussed the need to encourage immigration legally: "We have to have a program that says if you're going to come to this country; come according to the rules, it's a good first step, that the first thing you do here is a legal act, not an illegal act."

During a question on Libya, he spoke most passionately "The bottom line is that Ronald Reagan was committed to America being a force for good around the world…we believe we can spread our vision to the rest of the world and make this country safer as a result of it," he said. He also slammed President Obama’s handling of Libya Wednesday night; saying the Obama administration is “confused.”

Jobs: Rick Santorum touts his Jobs plan as the one that can get passed with bi-partisan support. He says we need someone that can get things done and he is the man for the job

Santorum was asked about homeland security but he changed the direction of this question and took it back to a question a about Texas Gov. Rick Perry's executive order that all teenage girls receive the HPV-vaccine. Santorum says parental rights are more important then states rights when it comes to Gardasil HPC vaccine. We should never use an executive order for a decision like this. You can't call yourself a conservative and then use the heavy hand of government against America's parents

Senator Santorum joined Senator Graham, Attorney General Alan Wilson, Congressman Joe Wilson and many other local elected officials in the Chapin Labor Day Parade.

Senator Santorum was the only candidate to walk in this parade and showed his dedication to put himself in front of the people. His commitment to this race and the people of South Carolina is second to none. Please take a minute to listen to his comments before the parade.
